Wingspan (Review 2)

review by Rene

As a newcomer to Wingspan, I found that even the setup was fun because of the birdhouse-shaped dice tower and the egg tokens! At first, I struggled to understand how all the different pieces worked, as it took some time to learn how the actions worked, but the Swift-Start guides were very helpful. They hold your hand throughout the first few turns to help you understand how the turn process works. The game gets easier once you get the hang of it. It's easy to play once you understand the basic rules, but, even then, the depth of strategy that the cards offer provide an almost unlimited variety of fun & exciting ways to challenge yourself and win. I've found that the random goals each round keep the game fresh for new players and veteran players alike. Wingspan also has two different modes of play; one mode specifically focuses on competitive play while the other mode is toned down for more casual play and for new players. This game also has an Automa mode, which is perfect for solo players! Wingspan also famously has visually pleasing art which adds to the delight of playing Wingspan!

Wingspan is available now through our webstore.
