Marvel’s Dice Throne is a simple, but effective game about rolling dice, dealing damage, and performing combos! If you’ve ever played the original version of Dice Throne, then you should know what to expect. If not, this version is still a fun standalone way to start! The 4-Hero Box adds 4 new iconic Marvel characters into the game, each with their own unique game boards, dice, status effects, decks, and mechanics. The gameplay is fairly simple, with each turn essentially boiling down to: draw and gain a combat point, roll dice & attempt to perform an attack, maybe playing a card beforehand. The defender rolls their defense dice, if possible, then the next turn begins. The gameplay does not change much between the original version and the Marvel version. However, the Marvel characters are all a bit more complex than the base game characters. Each character has a very flavorful power that fits the gameplay rather well. One of Scarlet Witch's cool abilities is to force your opponents to roll her dice instead of their own, which can be an incredible tool for disrupting plays and making it harder for your opponents to deal damage. Spider-Man: Miles Morales has the ability to combo which allows him to make multiple attacks in a turn which can lead to a devastating amount of damage being dealt in a single turn. Loki's ability helps prevent opponents from activating abilities for a turn and denies them from their easy, consistent, upgraded, or most threatening attacks. Finally, Thor has the ability to throw Mjolnir at an opponent at any time at the cost of discarding 1 card and dealing 1 damage. This is a very unique ability because Thor will almost always have a way to dish out 1 and sometimes more damage at ANY time. Overall, If you enjoy Dice Throne or Marvel or both, this is a great expansion if you’re looking for more complex characters to spice up your battles or just watch these iconic heroes duke it out on the tabletop!
