Where older Dreadnoughts housed the crippled forms of fallen heroes entombed in sarcophagi, Redemptors utilize more refined interfaces and support systems, allowing their mortally wounded pilots to still bring righteous fury to the battlefield with vigor and aggression. 

In the wider 40K universe, Redemptor Dreadnoughts are brutal frontline walkers. They symbolize the Imperium’s relentless will to endure and destroy, offering firepower and durability that matches the grimdark desperation of the setting. Their lore is steeped in reverence and sorrow; they are both honored and pitied by their battle-brothers, viewed as living relics bound eternally to war. They carry the history and weight of the chapter they honor with them as they serve the Emperor’s will.

Building the Redemptor Dreadnought kit is a satisfying experience, whether you’re a new hobbyist or a seasoned builder. The kit comes on multiple sprues and is impressively engineered, with a blend of large, solid armor plates and intricate mechanical details. Cutting the pieces from the sprue is straightforward, and mold lines are minimal, requiring only light cleanup. 

Assembly-wise, it’s recommended to dry-fit the components before gluing, especially around the sarcophagus and torso sections, to ensure proper alignment. The arms and weapons can be magnetized with a bit of planning, which is helpful for gameplay flexibility. Be sure to think about how you want to position your Dreadnought before gluing the arms and legs to make sure it’s in the pose you want it to be in! Overall, the Redemptor builds like a true centerpiece model. 

Gameplay and Conclusion 

On the tabletop, the Redemptor Dreadnought is a durable firebase and close-combat threat in one chassis. With Toughness 10 and a 3+ armor save (as of 10th edition), it’s a difficult target to remove, and its weapon options such as the Macro Plasma Incinerator or Heavy Onslaught Gatling Cannon, make it flexible enough to engage a range of targets. Whether the Dreadnought is alone or supporting your infantry it can deal with any adversaries brave enough to engage its 10,000 year old cannons.
